Ellen Marsh Becker - Modern Artist
Life is evolving during Covid-19 in ways both unexpected, restraining, and impactful to me.
At the beginning of our "stay at home" news, my husband and companion of 49 years, father of our four children, Solomon, passed away in our home.
I need to pay homage here as he was my muse and patron.
This shaped my months into a pensive, mournful period and also birthed a desire to catalog our life through art works and creative career as an artist and art teacher.
You may read the posts and see many more paintings without having an account on Instagran.com/visuallymoi
So, on my bluff overlooking our bay on Puget Sound, I'll manage, with luck, organizing, gardening, painting, and teaching.
Ellen is a forth generation painter and now enamellist, born into an artistic Russian and American family that travelled the globe extensively.
A twenty year resident of Olympia, Washington, and has also lived in Massachusetts, Florida, New York, Great Britain, and Japan, where she was raised.
Ellen credits her years in Japan for learning to appreciate the spiritual nature of everyday things and experiences.
For 35 years, Ellen has shown progressive experience and responsibility with documented success in fine art production and has taught painting and enameling in various venues.
Her objective is to continue painting and teaching using vitreous enamels porcelain works on canvas and paper. Because she has created murals in these mediums, she is also interested in creating larger architectural pieces that can inspire contemplation and delight in a public audience. Ellen views herself as a colorist.
Consulting on colors, placement, design, ideas and brain storming.
FROM MY CURRENT PERCH ON A 60' BLUFF OVERLOOKING BUD BAY
Loyal to family, always the caregiver, and charismatic, with a need for regular income, Ellen focuses on teaching painting semi-privately in her studio. She works around family and friends and refused to commit to a single figurative style or to use photographic images in a formulaic way. Nearly every art piece, whether on porcelain, copper enamel, paper or canvas is different.
Most have interpretive and painterly liberty. Your eyes and mind might look at them and find psychic or psychological leanings.
